And so we begin with the biggest hardship of the book. Enjoy!

The Gobbie looked up from eating and gasped. In moments, he was up and running. “After Him!” shouted Natalie. The three little fairies flew with all their might.

As they rounded a corner, Christy ran smack into a gooberry bush! Of course, she didn’t know it was a gooberry bush.

“Ick!” Christy cried. “I am covered in purple goo!” “That’s nasty!” said Trish in discuss.

“Don’t worry!” said Natalie. “I’ll have you cleaned up in no time.”

Natalie twirled her wand and Christy was as clean as though she had been through the laundry.

“Thanks!” said Christy.

They picked up the trail a few feet away from the gooberry bush. It led them to a blue stream with red polka dots.

“Weird” said Trish.

“Uh, what now?” asked Christy.

“Simple,” said Natalie. “We hop on the dots and ask the right question and we find the gobbie!”

Natalie hopped on the dot closest to the stream. Christy and Trish hopped on the two right next to her.

“Where oh where did my gobbie go. Where oh where can ugly be?” Natalie sang with glee. Trish and Christy did the same.

Instantly, they swirled around three times and pop they were standing in a field of yellow followers. The gobbie was right in front of them fast asleep.

“Shhh!” whispered Natalie.

The girls stood perfectly still. All they could hear was the gobbie snoring. Christy slowly walked toward the gobbie. She could see the jewel shining red under the gobbie;s left arm.

Trish went around to the right side of the gobbie and tickled his elbow. The gobbie shifted over to scratch his elbow and did not wake. The jewel was exposed and Christy quickly picked it up.

Natalie whispered, “Hurry!” They girls and Natalie flew back to where they had entered. They twirled three times and said, “Goodbye gobbie, good-bye friend. We go, we go back to the stream.”

In a Flash, they were back at the stream standing on the dots. Natalie smiled and said, “Success! But, we have only just begun.”

My mom came up with that singing "rhyme" on the polka dot river.

Also wtf kind of angle is that drawing of Natalie upside-down over the gobbie? I hate it. I hate it so much.

Yes, that was super easy, barely an inconvenience, and I still meant it when I said this was the biggest hardship they face.
