Alright, another filler chapter, let's go.

Chapter Six

Small, Smaller, Smallest

When the pink powder finally cleared, Christy had no idea where she was. The grass at Potter’s Stream was only up to her ankles. This grass was up to her waist.

“Trish!” she called. “Trish!”

“I’m here!” Trish called. Christy ran in the direction of her friend’s voice. She saw something in the grass, and bent down. It was Trish! She helped her friend up. “What was that!?” Trish asked, excitement in her eyes.

Christy gasped. In front of her was her friend, but behind Trish, there were shimmering green wings.

“Uh…” was all she could say.

Trish didn’t notice. She was too busy looking over Christy’s shoulder, smiling from ear to ear.

To see what she was looking at, Christy turned around and saw something shimmering indigo. “Holy…!” Christy shouted, and jumped back. That’s when she flew up, her feet leaving the ground.

Christy couldn’t love her flying experience for that long, for only a few seconds later, she crashed down into the grass.

“Wooooohoooooooo!”

Christy looked up to see Trish flying around. Well, wobbling was more of the word. Trish soon crashed as well.

“Where’s Natalie?” Trish said as she stood up.

“Right here!” said the fairy, who was now flying down to the girls. Now that they were the same size, Christy could see her more clearly. She had brown eyes, and her ears were pointed. “So, now you can keep up!” And with that, she flew off again.

Trish flew up, less wobbly, and followed the fairy.

Christy tried to follow, but wasn’t as fast. When she finally caught up to Trish, she was out of breath.

“How do you do this?” Christy panted.

“Easy,” she answered. “I read The Beginner’s Guide to Flying.

Now Christy wished she read fantasy books.

They followed Natalie (who was following the goo) for about a half hour until they reached a cave.

“I didn’t know there was any caves nearby,” said Christy.

“Of course,” Natalie answered. “If someone from our world comes here, they need to keep it secret! It’s shielded.”

Yeah, Christy thought. That makes perfect sense.

Natalie started to fly in the cave. “Wait!” Christy called after her. “We’re going in there?”

Natalie turned around. “Of course. This is one of the few places in this world where we can come and still be in our territory.” She hesitated. “Well, I mean, it’s shielded, and is kinda like an alternate place. Um…how do I explain this…. It’s in the same place and time as the regular world, but it’s overlapping…. Am I making any sense?”

“No,” Christy said, but Trish said, “YES!” so Natalie flew in the cave.

Inside was golden and filled with mushrooms. Christy took a deep breathe. The air smelled like peppermint. “Where are we?”

“Sweet-Mushroom Grove,” said Natalie. “Gobbies come here to feast on the mushrooms. They give them energy.”

“Is that a gobbie?” Trish asked, pointing across the room.

Christy looked at where Trish was pointing. There, sitting on a rock eating mushrooms, was a blue guy. He was bald, had no hair, had pointy ears (bigger than Natalie’s), and wore a brown cloak.

“Yes,” Natalie answered.

I'm glad I changed the wing color to be more distinct, but the Beginner's Guide to Flying is cringe.
