Enjoy! I guess....

Chapter Five

Questions

And I guess the list of questions would be way too long to list on this page, so here is a short version:

  1. How do you know?

  2. What powers do we have?

  3. Where is here?

  4. Why are we in the clouds?

  5. Why are the houses made of gold?

  6. How do powers connect to this place?

Well, the only questions we didn’t answer were 2, 4, and 5.

Chapter Six

Our Old Friends

We decided to introduce Lucy and Kat to our friends Liz and Charles Gray and their grandkids Carla and George Randall. Their house is the closest to the portal.

We walked over to their house and knocked in the door.

Liz opened the door and let us in.

The house was just how I remembered it. It was like I never left. Except that their walls were painted different colors. I know time moves quicker here, so I’m guessing it has been months since they’ve seen us.

After everyone got settled in and introduced, Liz told us to come to the basement.

She led us down the same secret passage way that had swirly and long stairs. Everyone (except for Liz) was dizzy once we reached the bottom.

“OK,” said Liz. “Are you two ready to find out your powers?”

Lucy and Kat nodded vigorously.

“Alright,” said Liz. “Lucy, you can change the weather whenever you please. And Kathleen, you can stretch any part of your body.”

“Do our parents have powers?” Lucy asked.

“Well…,” said Liz. “Usually it works that way, but in your cases, no. However, Lucy, your brother Jason can hypnotize people.”

“So you mean I’m the only one with powers in my family?” Kat asked.

Liz nodded. “Well enough chit-chat! You two need to practice.

She sent Lucy to a big weather forecast thingy and sent Kat over to the corner of the room.

“Lucy,” she said. “This tells the actual weather anywhere in the world. Try to change it.” She turned to Kat. “Kathleen, try to move the objects on the other end of the room to you.”

Lucy and Kat gulped.

Chapter Seven

Training-Again

Liz allowed Alexia, Maddie, Hannah, Nellie, Mikey, and I to train again.

Things went a lot better this time.

Alexia managed to teleport her books a lot farther.

I managed to read the “minds” of all of my robots.

Maddie turned into countless animals.

Nellie didn’t get hit by any darts.

Mikey lit the fire places and Hannah froze them.

I know what you’re thinking: What about Lucy and Kat?

Well here’s your answer: Not doing so well.

Here’s a visual:

# of times Lucy changed the weather: 1

# of times Kat stretched her arm: 1

In that time, I got 652 minds read. (Yeah, I counted.)

We took a break.

Chapter Eight

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

We went for a walk just outside the house. We had a conversation like this:

Me: So, Lucy. How’s school?

Lucy: Good. How’s yours?

Me: Good.

Kat: Aurora, Lucy, Nellie. We haven’t officially met. I’m Kathleen Amy Robinson.

Me: Aurora Hailey Austin.

Lucy: Lucy Anna Karry.

Nellie: Nellie Alice Newman

Alexia: Wait! Did you hear that?

Our conversation immediately stopped. At first, I didn’t hear anything.

Rustle. Rustle. Crunch. CRACK!

I looked around to see where the sound was coming from. But before I could, a man jumped out of nowhere.

So we all started to run away.

I heard a ZAP! And I was off my feet and falling through air.

I heard a girl scream my name.

Then everything went black.

I hate the word "AHHH" now. I don't know what this formatting is. I don't know why everyone sucks so bad at their power but everyone else is an expert despite having no time to train.

I just want to get back to my current draft.... Which I'm writing again!
