Chapter Four

Teleporting Out of the Force Field

Honestly, I didn’t want to believe her. But there was no choice but to.

“Are you sure?” Kat asked.

Carla nodded. “I must have Grandpa’s super hearing,” she said.

Charles nodded and got out of his chair. He took one step forward and he was all of a sudden on the other side of the room. “I must have George’s super speed.”

George got up and walked over to his grandfather. George put his hand on Charles’s shoulder and a patch of ice was formed there.

“COLD!” screamed Charles.

“I must have Hannah’s ice powers,” said George, staring at his hand.

George walked over to the tray of cookies and took one. Immediately, a patch of ice formed on the yummy cookie. He yelped and dropped the cookie.

Hannah (who was on the other side of the room) reached out and her arm stretched 5 feet to grab the cookie. She had a surprised look on her face, but she managed to say, “Cookies should never be wasted,” and “I must have Kat’s powers.”

“I’ll get more cookies,” said Kat, smiling. She walked out of the room and screamed. She ran back into the room, panting. “I must have Liz’s powers. I could see through the kitchen’s wall!”

Liz laughed. All of a sudden, it was really bright in the room. Everyone screamed and covered their eyes. Soon the light disappeared, but no sooner than it did, rain started falling from the ceiling!!!!!

When the rain stopped, Liz said, “Sorry! I must have Lucy’s powers!”

Lucy wiped the water out of her eyes and said, “Yeah…. I think I have Maddie’s powers.”

Well that was obvious considering the elephant incident.

Maddie looked thoughtful. “I wonder what would happen if I tried to turn into an animal.”

Apparently she did, because the next moment, her hand was on fire.

“AAAHHH!!!” she screamed. She started shaking her hand up and down until the fire finally went out.

She started panting. “I think…I have…Mikey’s…powers….”

Mikey nodded. “I think I have Nellie’s powers,” he said.

“Yeah. I think you’re right,” I said. I remembered when I had thought of Aurora on the ground and that’s where she appeared. “I think I have teleportation now.”

“I think you’re right,” said Alexia. She looked at Aurora. “I think I have your mind reading.”

Aurora sighed. “That leaves me with Carla’s levitation. I thought that was it anyway.”

I wonder what it would be like to teleport myself. I thought.

Too late! I was already on the other side of the room!

It was so weird! I hadn’t felt anything. Right now, I would give ANYTHING to get my force field back.

Chapter Five

Side Effects

I have no idea how Alexia can handle teleporting. Every time I thought of a place, I was there. Whenever I thought of an object, it would appear. SO ANNOYING! Well, Alexia wasn’t much better. She kept saying random comments that was a response to someone’s thought. Here is what happened:

ME (thinking): Teleporting is ANNOYING!

ALEXIA: No it is not!

MADDIE, LUCY, KAT, AURORA: Huh?

ALEXIA: Nellie said she didn’t like teleporting.

ME: No I didn’t! Well, I did think it.

See what I mean?

Aurora wasn’t much better.

She kept levitating REALLY high until I either randomly thought of her or saw her and tried to teleport her down (thankfully I succeeded). Carla also kept thinking she had levitation and tried to bring Aurora back to Earth. Unfortunately, whenever someone mumbled something under their breath, Carla would hear it and comment even if that person didn’t really mean to say it out loud and accidently mumbled it. She would scare us half to death sometimes. I won’t give any examples.

Charles couldn’t take little baby steps without disappearing in a blur. I have to admit that even though I felt bad for him, it was pretty funny.

George wasn’t doing so well either. One time he froze the whole living room and accidently made an ice skating rink. This is what I felt:

[2] It was fun

[3] It was dangerous

Hannah’s arms kept stretching out and dragging behind her. It was both funny and horrifying. Carla and Liz kept trying to perk up the mood and brought us cookies and drinks. George drank too much lemonade and went to the bathroom. Kat walked by and screamed. She claims she didn’t see anything.

Liz did the following things:

1] Made the sun shine through the windows and nearly blinded us

2] Made it rain inside

3] Almost struck the house with lightning

Lucy turned into:

1] A cat

2] A dog

3] An elephant (again)

4] A hippo

5] A penguin

6] A snake

Maddie set a lot of things on fire.

Mikey hit a lot of people with a force field

And I, of course, was everywhere.

Chapter Six

Ronald’s Location

Carla walked over to her computer and looked up where Ronald the sorcerer was. She typed in:

Where is the location of Ronald Warlock, sorcerer?

“How is this going to help?” I asked. “The Internet can’t tell you where a person is.”

Carla pressed Enter and looked up at me. “No,” she said. “The internet can’t do that.” She smiled. “But Super-net CAN.”

“What’s Super-net?” Alexia asked.

“A special Internet for people with powers, also known as superheroes, only. Even sorcerers can’t use this!”

“Quick question,” said Aurora. “How many sorcerers are there?”

“26,” said George.

Aurora raised her eyebrows. “That is pretty small.”

Carla’s computer beeped. She looked at it and said, “Here it is! OK, let’s go!”

She, Liz, Charles, and George turned to leave but the rest of us stayed staring at the screen.

“Well,” said Charles. “Are you coming?”

We still stared at the screen. “Are you sure this is right?” Maddie asked.

Carla nodded.

“Hmm,” said Maddie. “OK. It just doesn’t seem like a place that an evil sorcerer would hide out.”

“I agree,” I said.

“Why is that?” asked Carla.

“Well,” I said, “because it’s Arizona.”

Love how those first two chapters were just the same thing and absolutely ridiculous. Also, I can't believe Supernet is something I actually came up with.
