Terrible Fanfiction I Wrote

I never want to speak of this again.

I have nothing against the fanfiction genre--I really don't. But that doesn't mean the stuff I wrote was good.

I had a few ideas for other fanfiction, but the only one I'm going to talk about, considering how much I committed to it, is my Warriors Cats fanfiction that I wrote in eighth grade.

I decided to create a Warriors-inspired series that surrounded my OCs, instead of writing about pre-existing characters. Which means I came up with my own four different Clans and own cats and own stories, while still committing to the lore of the Warriors series.

While I won't go over the plots or extensive outlines in this post, I'm gonna give you a quick overview of how much I was committed to this fanfiction.

I called this arc of the series Night and Day, and planned out the six books that tended to be in a Warriors arc. The first book was titled The New Clans, and is 29 thousand words somehow. I did not finish the second book, but it was called Rise of the Forest and made it to 21 thousand words. I planned out a super edition called Morningstar's Guilt, but I only wrote a prologue, so it's almost a thousand words long.

I created an entire table to remember who every character was, who their parents/mate/kits were, what Clan they were in, what they looked like, and their rank. I made a list for all of the kits born and kept track of how old they were as I wrote, and I even planned a history for the series. I planned out important events that would happen later and kept track of the timeline.

I was committed to this.

I did stop eventually because I hit writer's block, but I'm glad I did, or I may not have started working on The Secret Portal again.

The next few days I will go over summaries of the two books I wrote, and my plans for the future of the series. It's an interesting thing to look back on, because I can tell that the good writer in me was forming, but just wasn't there yet. I had a lot of good ideas, but I just had no idea on how to execute them.

I may adapt this fanfiction into a different concept in order to keep some of the ideas I had, but of course, most of it is going to change.
