Short Story Excerpt: Natalie the Necklace Fairy - Pt1

The short story I ended up writing for my creative writing class started out as a fanfiction of the Rainbow Magic fairy series, which you can find more information on in the overview above. I wrote this with help from my mom, and I drew pictures along with it. So I will include those with the excerpts.

I wrote this around second grade.

Christy Banks was new in the town of Nara, Texas. She was really nervous about her new school. Would she make friends? Who would her teachers be?

Starting school mid-year at a new place could be complicated. She wondered all these things as she walked down the hall of Anderson Junior High. Her first class was Algebra. Math was her favorite subject, at least that was a plus.

She sat next to a young girl who looked allot like she did. How interesting, Christy thought. The young girl has short brown hair and brown eyes. She was light complected and had a sweet smile.

“My name is Christy Banks.” Christy said.

“Trish Karr. Pleased to meet you.” Trish said brightly. Wow, Christy thought what a great greeting. Little did she know that Trish and her would be inseparable in the days to come.

Christy enjoyed her math class and was able to speak to Trish for a few minutes before the bell rang.

Now on to her locker to get her English book Trish was just two lockers down from Christy and waved as she rushed down the hallway to her next class.

Christy did not see Trish again until forth period science class. Trish made sure to get Cristy into her lab group. Here Christy met Dave and Adaline, who were fun and smart.

Christy, Trish, Dave and Adaline walked from Science class to the cafeteria for lunch. After waiting in line for pizza, salads, sandwiches and other things they sat together outside on the deck.

“How long have you been living in Nara?” Dave asked Christy.

“We moved in just a few days ago,” Christy answered.

“Well, you will love Nara! It is exciting! You never know what will happen. Full moos and ….” Adaline yammered on all through lunch. Talking about the various activities that were available.

During Lunch, Christy did learn that her science lab group all lived in Christy’s neighborhood. Dave lived around the corner from Christy, Adaline three streets down, and Trish lived right across the street!

They all walked home together. Christy couldn’t believe her luck! Friends the first day of school! But was it luck… or magic?!

Love how I put the only boy in the group in a shirt that says "BOYS ROCK" I don't know that's kinda funny. I honestly find these drawings hilarious and cute.
