The Clans that I made up are SunClan, MoonClan, GalaxyClan, and LightningClan. MoonClan featured the OCs of one of my friends, and GalaxyClan was my sister's. I told her they didn't have a word for galaxy, but she insisted. SunClan was where I put most of my OCs, but LightningClan was default more of my OCs, even though it was the "bad" Clan.
The series focused on seven SunClan cats, who started as apprentices, but were all warriors/medicine cats by the second book: Mossflower, Lemonfrost, Talonstorm, Forestfern, Violetshine, Sparrowwing, and Daisypetal.
When I reread this, Mossflower was my default favorite character. She was the medicine cat, and although not interesting, she was really sweet and never did anything wrong (not like in a "Mary Sue" way, but more of a "every other character did something bad" way).
Lemonfrost I wrote as having a downward spiral arc and later redemption. However, she ended up being an extremely unlikeable character because she was extremely self-centered. I could have worked with it, because she constantly felt unwanted and unloved, but it came across as selfish. I think I knew this, but it came across as annoying.
I also accidentally made her and Mossflower a really good ship.
Violetshine was supposed to be the Chosen One character in the prophecy I had, but she wasn't interesting at all. Also, I came up with this name BEFORE the new series named Violetshine. So I was actually mad when I found out.
Talonstorm was just really stupid and kinda boring. His entire personality was "I love Violetshine" but there was no chemistry.
Sparrowwing also had a downward spiral, and I don't think I was going to redeem him, but he was intollerable. He had a mate but it was a terrible relationship. Also, he was toxic. Also, I had StarClan visit him with cryptic messages but they never gave him anything.
Daisypetal was in an interclan romance with a LightningClan tom named Limetail. It was heterosexual nonsense, but Daisypetal was unreasonably punished for this.
When it came to the plot, it was almost nonexistent, but I could see the good writer in me starting to form. I had a lot of good ideas, I just had no idea how to pace anything or execute anything.
This was the basic idea for the series. I'll get into more detail another time.
