Chapter Fourteen

“Maddie! Maddie? Are you awake? WAKE UP!”

I opened my eyes. All I saw was a blur of brown and pink. I felt around and soon felt my purple glasses. I put them on. The brown was hair around a girl’s face and the pink morphed into glasses in front of dark brown eyes.

I realized that it was my sister. Alexia. Wow. A familiar face. We’re back home!

Alexia helped me to my feet. I looked around. All the students from my school rushing to the building and hugging, fist-bumping, and slapping their friends on the back. No one seemed to notice 3 kids appear from a rock.

Alexia went to help Nellie and Aurora was helping Mikey. The five of us started to walk towards the building.

“So…” said Alexia. “How was your adventure?”

Chapter Fifteen

After school

RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!! The bell rang really loud, signaling the end of the day. Nellie and I went to get our backpacks out of the closet.

“Hey,” Nellie said. “What’s that?”

There was a piece of paper in my side pocket. I picked it up and unfolded it. It was a note. It read:

Dear Madison,

There is a way to sense if someone has powers or not. Alexia, Aurora, Michael, and Nellie have this note too. You just need to look directly into their eyes and see if you see a glow. It doesn’t matter what color it is-just a glow. You will have to bring them to Cloud Town to know their powers. Also, People who have powers usually can sense it-even if they don’t know they sensed it. They might fall in love with them or become their BFF. Try looking into all of your friend’s eyes first.

Nellie peeked into her backpack. She had the same note. “Wow,” she said. “Whose eyes should we look in first?”

I laughed. “Let’s not freak them out by staring at them. How about we accidently-on purpose look into their eyes.”

“OK,” said Nellie.

But I got to admit, as soon as I got home, Alexia and I wrote down all the people we want to stare down.

“We’re not going to do them all in one day, right?” I asked.

“No,” said Alexia. “We will have to wait until the right time. That may be days or months from now.”

Well, I took her advice, and waited until the day to come.

I do not like this one. At all. It's so boring.
