Chapter Ten
The REAL (Crazy) Plan
Well. Those plans won’t work. We has to think of something else.
[Kaylin here. I used different fonts here, but they didn't translate overs, so I'm adding in who's speaking for y'all's benefit.]
[Maddie]: What about our powers?
[Nellie]: What do you mean?
[Maddie]: We can use our powers to get out!
[Mikey]: How?
[Nellie]: Not sure.
[Maddie]: Well, we need a distraction.
[Nellie]: Like what?
[Maddie]: Like fire.
[Mikey]: WHAT!?
[Maddie]: Come on, Mikey. It’s the only way.
[Mikey]: Okay. FINE!
[Nellie]: What if he tries to zap us with that potion again?
[Maddie]: Use your force-field!
[Nellie]: Oh.
[Mikey]: What should the distraction be?
[Maddie]: Well, when you set off your fire, he will come here. You two will hide in the shadows and I will be in the middle as a puppy.
[Nellie]: Good idea Maddie!
[Mikey]: We’re doomed.
[Maddie]: Yeah, we are.
Chapter Eleven
The (Crazy) Plan in Action
Mikey set his hand ablaze. He threw it at the door. The flames spread across the hallway.
Soon, we heard, “WHAT ARE YOU KIDS DOING IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????”
Mikey and Nellie ran and hid in the shadows. I turned into the cutest dog EVER!!!
William appeared in the doorway. “Where did they go?” Then he saw me. “What are you doing here?” He opened the door. But no sooner than he did, Nellie and Mikey burst out of the shadows and I turned into a human.
“You’re not going to get away this time!” William screamed. He threw the potion at us.
But before it could hit us, a blue light flooded the world. The potion bounced off and hit William square in the face!
“Hurry!” Nellie screamed. “I don’t know how long it will last!”
We ran as fast as we could. But our legs were not fast enough!
“Stop!” I said. “And hold on!”
I turned into a cheetah and ran as fast as I could.
I didn’t know how I did it, but I was having a blast! I could still see the blue light of the force field and I could still hear Nellie and Mikey screaming, but I ignored that and just kept running.
I ran until I saw a familiar house in the distance.
Chapter Twelve
Hi! We’re back!
Liz listened to every detail. “We were worried,” she said. “You didn’t come back by dinner.”
Mikey, Nellie, and I looked at each other. “How long were we gone?” I asked.
“1 day, 5 hours, 4 minutes, and 26.8594 seconds,” said Carla.
“Our parents must be worried sick!” said Nellie.
“Actually,” said Carla. “Every day here is a minute there. You haven’t been gone very long.”
“HOORAY!” we shouted.
“ROAR!” said Bobby.
Chapter Thirteen
Are we going to come back?
It took a while, but we finally found the portal.
“Ready?” I asked.
Mikey nodded. But Nellie just stared at the town (Which Carla told us was called Cloud Town). “Are we going to come back?” she said.
“Probably,” I said. “I would like some adventures every now and then.”
“Same here,” said Mikey.
And with that, we jumped in the portal.
Well, that was anti-climatic. This is significantly better in Draft Three, and while the circumstances have changed in Draft Four and Five, there's still a vague similarity, and that's even better. The point is, I don't like this.
Also, I can't believe these kids want more adventures after getting kidnapped. It's so dumb. Nothing happened in this story, and we're still not done!
