Short Story - The Chronosians, Pt. 1

During my series of blog posts about old writing prompts that I did, I talked about one that talked about time paradoxes, and how I was originally going to have a series that followed a bunch of time paradoxes and attempts to correct them.

This was derived from that idea. But like usual, before I go into the short story I wrote for class, here's how The Chronosians started.

The original idea was called Next Thursday Morning, and I originally planned it to be a standalone idea. I planned to stretch it to novel-length, but with what little I had, I think I should have planned for a novella. I started it around eighth grade and I wrote about three thousand words.

It follows a girl named Tiffany Isaac, a 16-year-old girl living in the year 2063. One Friday when her parents are on a business trip, Tiffany gets a visit from a future version of herself looking like she's been through hell, claiming that she's from next Thursday morning, and tries to warn her that the apocalypse will happen if Tiffany doesn't do something, but she's sucked back to her time before she's able to do anything.

The rest of the draft, Tiffany attempts to stop the apocalypse, but has no idea what she's not supposed to do. She researches time travel and the apocalypse, but goes nowhere with it. And apparently I was going nowhere with this because I stopped writing it.

I did try to rewrite the book, this time with the series title The Time Stoppers Saga: Next Thursday Morning. But I got even less far in it.

All I know that I planned was that Tiffany's attempt to stop the apocalypse is actually what caused it, but I don't think I was clever enough to figure it out. The Time Stoppers in the series title were going to be an organization that tried to stop paradoxes, and Tiffany's story was going to be one of many with this organization. But once again, it went nowhere.
