Here's the rest of chapter one!

English was next on her schedule. She stopped by her locker and grabbed her English book.

37, 43, 11 she recited in her head and her locker swung open. She smiled as she saw her locker as neat and organized as it was this morning. She placed her math book at the bottom with the other books and grabbed her English book.

“Christy!”

Christy looked to where the voice came from. Trish was just two lockers down, waving with a big smile on her face.

“Hi, Trish,” said Christy. She was glad that Trish was nearby her locker and not Aria.

*****

Miss Lawrence, the English teacher, was just as nice as Mrs. Hamilton. She had light green eyes with a brown bob. Also, she met a girl named Adeline, who had sandy blonde hair with two braids on the side.

Adeline was full of spunk and talked about all the different places in Orlando where you could go to have fun.

Third period was Social Studies, where she met Dave, an African American boy with short, black hair.

Dave was nice like the teacher, Mr. Sanchez, who tried to make a joke out of everything.

Fourth period was Science with Mr. Ester. And Dave was in her class!

“You can be in my lab group,” he offered.

“Thanks,” said Christy.

When she got to Mr. Ester’s room, Adeline and Trish where there! Christy couldn’t believe it! She made three new friends in only three periods!

*****

After Science, Christy and her friends walked to lunch. They waited in line for salads and pizza. They picked a table near a window and started to eat.

“How long have you been living in Orlando?” Dave asked.

“Not long,” said Christy. “We moved hear only a week ago.”

Adeline started to talk, yet again, about places to go, but Christy wasn’t really listening. She kept thinking about how making new friends reminded her so much of her old one.

Cool, the side characters from the beginning of the original!

This was a little short of an excerpt, but I didn't want to chop the previous scene in half.
