Revising M.A.G.I.C.: Foundation of School of the Legends

I'm not entirely sure what possessed me to do this, but I decided to essentially change everybody's name in M.A.G.I.C.. I'm glad I did, because it laid the foundation on how I chose names for School of the Legends when it eventually became that. I decided to look at the meanings behind names, and began searching for names of different cultures, to make a more ethnically diverse cast. This stayed with me for School of the Legends.

But for now, let's look at these characters. Ava Potter became Anahi Rosario; Mallory Campbell became Marlis Haggard; Rebekah Greene became Ryan McGuire; Lauren Charming became Linn Charming; Karen Frost became Katya Zima-Frost; Chailey Scarlet became Cheryl Desrosiers; Cassandra Storm became Citra Malik. Rory Phillips stayed the same, and there's no sign of Summer Amberstone.

None of these characters have carried over to School of the Legends. But I still like the names.

One thing I added this time were names of the kingdoms each of the characters were from. However, as I went with ethnic names, I decided to name their kingdoms after real-life countries. So, they aren't creative. Pueterica, Germania, Irelaria, Englanda, Russaria, Americania, Francera, and Indoseria are the ones I had. I don't like these. I kept the names of real-life countries the same in School of the Legends.

I added a prologue during this draft, as well as a part that shifted the focus from Anahi to Marlis, but with little exception, this remains largely unchanged. I tried to describe accents, but that didn't really work, so that's gone by School of the Legends. Just imagine their accents based on what country I say they're from.

Overall, I hit writer's block, and I shifted focus to The Secret Portal. But I kept this idea, and held onto it. And soon, it would actually form into its final vision.
