My Old Writing Prompts - Pt. 4

This writing prompt took the form of a planned scene from The Secret Portal when I was still in the process of writing Draft Four. I do plan on a similar scene to this in the future, but the circumstances around it have changed greatly, especially the kind of narration that Ash will have at this point. This story arc has been hard for me to space out and make sure I was doing it at a good pace, and I'm still working very hard on it, because I know what the end results will be, but getting there is the hard part.

So this is the first writing prompt that is from a story I've actually written a decent amount of, while everything else has been put on the cutting room floor so far, or at least on a shelf where they're collecting dust. I will not consult this excerpt whenever I get to this point in the story due to how much has changed since I wrote this and how much will likely change to when I actually get to this scene.
