Character Introduction: Maddie Morgan

Today, the character we will talk about is Maddie Morgan.

Maddie is a very intelligent young girl who is endlessly curious and scientifically-minded. She drifts her focus and passion to whatever is more interesting at any given moment, bouncing from one thing to another. She's fascinated by how things work, taking pens apart and re-assembling them for example. She loves info-dumping about whatever she's working on if someone so much as show a passing interest. Despite her interests, she does find it hard to focus, and sometimes built-up impulsive energy explodes without warning or thinking of the consequences, which goes into her shapeshifting powers to morph into any type of animal. She struggles to get to know people and is often emotionally aloof, and comes across as blunt. She loves taking physical risks and is very confident in her knowledge to do so.

Maddie has appeared in previous drafts, although she was referred to as "Kelly" in Draft One, where she had telepathic communication. In Draft Two, her name was changed to Maddie and she was given her animal morphing. Now, it is relatively hard to balance Maddie's innocence from her young age with her logically-minded self, but I think I've found it by now, and she's a really fun character to write for.
