Character Introduction: Akash Singh

Today I introduce my beloved son, Akash Singh:

Akash is a charismatic and charming teen who views it as his responsibility to make everyone around him smile. He absolutely love the freedom and adrenaline of flight, and has a strong moral compass aligned with doing the right thing. He's very loyal and devoted, and if he ever does anything wrong, it eats him up until he sets things right. He respects authority and his obligations to his loved ones and acquaintances. He loves learning more about people and remembers details about their lives, and feels the need to restore harmony whenever there's tension. He's sensitive to criticism and wants his life to remain normal, although he struggles to understand what "normal" means to him in an ever-changing world. He doesn't express angry easily even when he gets angry, stays on the bright side, and has no problem navigating social cues. He tends to dote for attention, but has no problem being the support if someone needs it. He's patient and hard-working, but tends to self-doubt. He's popular and loved by all.

Akash was introduced in Draft Four of The Secret Portal, and like Robbie, was added for more male characters. I originally was only going to have him play the part of "love interest" so I could try my hand at romance. I've gotten better at that, but Akash has developed into someone far more complex than that. I absolutely love his character, and he's one of my favorites to write for. I'd write more for him if I could.
